Regular round-up of news for Museums in Cambridgeshire from Gordon Chancellor, Museums Partnership Officer.
- All museums are being warned by ACE to be extra vigilant (see attached).
- Norfolk Museums have sent me a long list of furniture and other items which they wish to dispose of. Rather than clog up your inboxes – as the files are quite large – please let me know if you want to see the lists.
- SHARE have now announced their small scale capital grants scheme (see Information and Application Form attached). These grants are designed to increase the resilience of museums by encouraging them to borrow significant items from National and other major museums. The grants will probably in the region of £10,000 to £30,000. The deadline is 20 November.
- The David Parr House in Cambridge is recruiting a Learning Consultant and an Interpretation Consultant, closing dates 26 October.
Finally, congratulations to Kettle’s Yard for achieving Provisional Accreditation and to Wisbech Museum and Thorney Museum for achieving Full Accreditation!
