Dear colleague
Firstly, I must congratulate Norfolk Museums Service and the University of Cambridge Museums on securing funding in the ACE National Portfolio from April 2018. This is tremendous news for both organisations, for Cambridgeshire’s museums and for the cultural life of the whole East of England, so well done to all concerned. Within the portfolio, SHARE Museums East, part of Norfolk Museums, will be a Sector Support Organisation to continue to deliver Museum Development.
I am also delighted to announce that the County Council will also be joining the Portfolio to deliver arts events and activities through ‘The Library Presents’ – this too can only be good for museums.
Other news this week:
1. There will be opportunities to input into the ACE Accreditation review (see http://www.artscouncil.org.uk/accreditation-scheme/about-accreditation#section-5) later in the year but in the meantime if museums want to raise points which are relevant for the review please email me or review.accreditation@artscouncil.org.uk.
2. Congratulations are due to Cambridge Museum of Technology, the Stained Glass Museum (Ely) and Peterborough Museum on being awarded SHARE Collections Care and Rationalisation grants. Well done!
